Taylor Swift Backs Kansas City Chiefs Docuseries Featuring Travis Kelce

Aug 24 2025

Kristen Lappas, director of the new Kansas City Chiefs docuseries, revealed that Taylor Swift has been “very supportive” of the project, which prominently features her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. This endorsement comes as no surprise to fans who follow both the pop star and the NFL player.

During a press event on August 23, Lappas shared that Swift, 35, granted permission for her image and likeness to be used in the six-part series titled The Kingdom. The series chronicles Kelce’s journey as he leads the Chiefs through the 2024 football season.

Interestingly, the production team opted not to pursue an interview with Swift. Lara Krug, Chief Marketing Officer for the Chiefs and COO of Foolish Club Studios, emphasized that the focus of the series was always intended to be on the team and its community. “Swift is a big fan,” Krug noted, adding that viewers can see her as she wished to be portrayed—an enthusiastic supporter of the Chiefs.

Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023, with Swift making her debut at a Chiefs game on September 24. Her presence at a second game on October 1 sparked excitement among fans eager to see how many games she would attend throughout the season.

The Kingdom premiered its first episode on August 14, 2025, coinciding with Swift’s first appearance on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast. The couple sat close together during the two-hour episode, sharing insights into their budding relationship.

As they navigated the summer of 2025, Swift and Kelce found themselves spending significant time together, leading to a deeper understanding of their compatibility. “Taylor and Travis have settled into a real rhythm as a couple,” a source disclosed, noting that their time together has highlighted their shared values.

Another insider remarked on how this period allowed them to discover commonalities they hadn’t anticipated. “They feel like they’ve found their person,” the source stated. Their relationship blossomed during a retreat to Swift’s New York City penthouse in February, followed by a $20 million rental in Boca Raton, Florida, where Kelce prepared for the upcoming football season.

“The break came at the right moment,” the second source added. “Taylor needed to spend more time with Travis so they could really get to know each other.” This time together revealed unexpected similarities in their lifestyles. As noted by the source, “Athletes have a different mindset; they are more disciplined, and it’s very similar to Taylor’s mindset.”
