TCU's Bud Clark Takes a Jab at Belichick After Dominating UNC

TCU's senior safety Bud Clark didn't hold back on Instagram Live after the Horned Frogs' impressive 48-14 victory over the University of North Carolina on September 1. The post-game atmosphere in the locker room was electric, and Clark seized the moment to poke fun at Bill Belichick, who was making his collegiate coaching debut.

"Belichick gotta call for his girlfriend! He’s sad!" Clark exclaimed, referencing the head coach's relationship with Jordon Hudson, who was present at the game. Their relationship, which became public in October 2024, has drawn attention due to their significant age difference and Hudson's role as a publicist of sorts for Belichick.

Belichick's much-anticipated debut was marred by TCU's dominant performance, with Clark playing a pivotal role. He returned an interception from North Carolina quarterback Gio Lopez for a touchdown in the second quarter and recorded five tackles, four of which were solo.

Following the game, TCU's official social media accounts joined in on the fun, sharing a clip of Belichick promoting an upcoming Hulu docuseries about North Carolina football. "When does episode one come out?" they quipped on X, adding to the lighthearted trolling.

Before the game, excitement filled the air in Chapel Hill as Belichick took the field. Announced as North Carolina's new head coach in December 2024, he transitioned from a legendary 24-season tenure with the NFL's New England Patriots, where he secured six Super Bowl titles.

In a unique twist, an on-campus bookstore even featured merchandise celebrating Hudson. A cut-off hoodie displayed her image alongside the phrase "Hair Jordon," a playful nod to basketball icon Michael Jordan and his Air Jordan brand. The sweatshirt also included a cheeky reference to Hudson's previous comments during a CBS Sunday Morning interview.

After the loss, Belichick acknowledged the challenges ahead for his team. "We’re better than what we were tonight, but we have to go out there and show that and prove it," he stated to reporters. "Nobody’s going to do it for us. We’re going to have to do it ourselves, and that’s what we’re going to do."

He further admitted, "[TCU] outplayed us, outcoached us, and they were just better than we were tonight. That’s all there was to it. They did a lot more things right than we did."

North Carolina is set to return to action on Saturday, September 6, facing off against the University of Charlotte at 7 p.m. ET.
