Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, humorously attributed his recent engagement to Taylor Swift as a source of additional "bling" in his life. Speaking in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 4, the day before the Chiefs' season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, Kelce was quick to respond to questions about how his life has shifted since dating the pop superstar.

When asked by ESPN Brazil reporter Paulo Antunes about the changes in his life, Kelce chuckled and remarked, “Well, I got one more ring from it.” The 35-year-old athlete, who already boasts three Super Bowl rings from victories in 2020, 2022, and 2023, clearly enjoyed the moment.

Kelce and Swift made headlines when they announced their engagement on Instagram on August 26. Reflecting on their relationship, he stated, “Ever since I’ve been dating Taylor, life has been fun. It’s been exciting. Obviously, a lot more eyes and I accept that. I’m living life. Living on a high, I guess.”

The Chiefs arrived in Brazil on September 3, and Kelce described the trip as an excellent opportunity for team bonding. “You get to hang out around the guys and the team,” he noted. “This is something we’ll all remember. You’re just kind of in the moment and excited to play some football tomorrow.”

Joined by Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes at the press conference, Kelce expressed pride in promoting NFL football to new audiences. “We’re trying to take this game worldwide,” he explained. “We’re so fortunate that Brazil’s had the interest of wanting to see more of the NFL.”

In preparation for the game, Kelce mentioned he had been “watching soccer games all week” to get himself hyped up for the upcoming match. “It’s exciting times to be down here and play in front of the Brazilian crowd,” he added.

With nearly 50,000 fans expected at Arena Corinthians for the Chiefs and Chargers matchup, Kelce shared his enthusiasm: “It’s so fun to see everybody get excited about this game that we’ve loved since we were kids, man. To be able to go out here, showcase it in a good way and show everybody just how much we really love this game.”

The highly anticipated game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on September 5, available exclusively on the NFL’s YouTube Channel and NFL+.
