Whit Weeks Takes a Jab at Ole Miss Following Lane Kiffin's Move to LSU

Dec 01 2025

LSU linebacker Whit Weeks is enjoying a moment of levity as his girlfriend's father, Lane Kiffin, transitions from Ole Miss to LSU. Just two months after publicly confirming their relationship on social media, Weeks finds himself at the center of a coaching shakeup.

On November 30, Weeks took to Instagram to share a playful jab at Ole Miss fans, posting a photo of himself feigning tears during a game. Accompanying the image were laughing emojis, signaling his amusement at the situation.

Kiffin, who led Ole Miss to an impressive 11-1 record and a potential College Football Playoff berth in 2025, left behind a fanbase that expressed their discontent vocally. As he departed, former supporters booed and directed expletives at him, showcasing their feelings of betrayal.

Weeks continued his lighthearted trolling with another post featuring Landry Kiffin, his girlfriend, sitting on his lap. He shared a meme from Barstool’s Ole Miss account that read, “We were blind,” adding the phrase “Ya love to see it” in all caps.

In a subsequent slide, he highlighted a quote from Lane Kiffin shared by ESPN’s college football account. The quote reflected on his tenure at Ole Miss: “I hope when [emotions] settle down that there’s an appreciation about what we were able to do here and having, you know, the best run that’s ever been done in the history of this school.” Weeks cheekily remarked above it, “The greatest thing to ever happen at Ole Miss.”

Having played three seasons with the Tigers, Weeks appears committed to staying in Baton Rouge despite the recent coaching changes. He faced challenges in 2025 due to injuries, participating in only six games and recording 13 solo tackles and one sack.

Landry Kiffin first revealed her relationship with Weeks on September 22, just days before the Tigers faced off against the Rebels. Her Instagram post featured a carousel of images with the caption “Happy,” including one of her and Weeks together.

Lane Kiffin now steps into a role with a Tigers team that finished the regular season at 7-5, including a loss to his former team. In his statement regarding the move, he expressed disappointment over not being able to complete what he termed a historic run at Ole Miss. “My request to do so was denied by [athletic director] Keith Carter despite the team also asking him to allow me to keep coaching them,” he stated. “Unfortunately, that means Friday’s Egg Bowl was my last game coaching the Rebels.”

He concluded with optimism for his new position: “While I am looking forward to a new start with a unique opportunity at LSU, I will forever cherish the incredible six years I spent at Ole Miss and will be rooting hard for the team to complete their mission and bring a championship to Oxford.”
