Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney Steer Clear of Each Other at ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Premiere Amid Feud Speculations
At the “Euphoria” Season 3 premiere in Los Angeles, the atmosphere was anything but harmonious.
Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney, once seen as close co-stars, notably avoided each other during the high-profile event, a move that left many insiders unfazed.

“The producers are well aware of the friction between them. Their interactions have been minimal throughout the filming of Season 3,” a source revealed. “To prevent any uncomfortable moments, they’ve restricted press inquiries about their relationship.”
Central to the rumored discord is Zendaya’s fiancé, Tom Holland. “It’s common knowledge that Sydney had a crush on Tom and flirted with him on set,” the insider continued. “This didn’t sit well with Zendaya, leading to a significant cooling of their friendship.”
While both actresses are reportedly busy with their careers, their past camaraderie seems to have eroded over time. Fans recently noted Sweeney’s absence from a promotional group photo for the new season.

“Once ‘Euphoria’ wraps up, there will be relief for both of them,” the source added. “But with their long careers ahead, this rivalry is likely to persist.”
Political differences have also contributed to the rift; Sweeney identifies as a registered Republican. “It’s not that they had a major fallout, but Zendaya has quietly distanced herself from Sydney due to their differing views,” the insider explained. “Zendaya doesn’t want to be linked to someone who supports Trump.”

In 2020, Zendaya made headlines with her Instagram post urging followers to “Vote this MF out” regarding President Trump. Conversely, Sweeney shared images from her mother’s birthday party in 2022, where guests wore MAGA hats.
In July, Sweeney received attention from Trump himself after her American Eagle campaign went viral. “Sydney Sweeney has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there,” he posted on Truth Social, praising her jeans line.
Despite the underlying tensions, Sweeney appeared cheerful on the red carpet, mingling with cast members like Maude Apatow and Hunter Schafer.
Zendaya arrived later, narrowly avoiding an encounter with Sweeney. Their co-star Jacob Elordi also made a late appearance, skipping interviews altogether.

Unlike previous premieres where they posed together, this time marked a stark contrast in their relationship dynamics. Sweeney had previously lauded Zendaya’s leadership skills in interviews.
While Holland was absent from the premiere, Sweeney attended with her boyfriend Scooter Braun after ending her long-term relationship with Jonathan Davino earlier this year.
Despite speculation about their feud, an insider dismissed these claims, asserting that both actresses are simply focused on their careers. “They’re both in high demand and working continuously,” the source stated.

Another insider clarified that Zendaya’s late arrival was the reason for her missed interactions with the cast.
Zendaya’s brief appearance followed her promotion of her A24 film “The Drama” alongside Robert Pattinson. She is also set to star in several upcoming films including “The Odyssey,” “Dune: Part Three,” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
Sweeney and Elordi have also been busy with their respective projects, including “The Housemaid” and “Wuthering Heights.”
