Bakhtiari Takes a Jab at Rodgers Over Wedding Absence
During the wedding festivities for Jordan Love, the Green Bay Packers' current quarterback, David Bakhtiari couldn't help but reflect on his past with Aaron Rodgers.
On June 29, Bakhtiari, 33, attended the ceremony in California, where he later shared a video of the newlyweds' first dance on social media. In a pointed remark directed at Rodgers, 41, he wrote, “Love is love. Congrats to the Loves. Just happy at least one of my quarterbacks invited me to their wedding 👀.”
This comment comes on the heels of Rodgers' recent announcement that he had married Brittani, a woman he has been dating since last year, “a couple months ago.”
In a playful exchange, Bakhtiari responded to a comment suggesting that Rodgers might have had a “commitment ceremony” with an imaginary partner. His reaction? A series of laughing emojis, indicating he found the notion amusing.
Despite their differences, Bakhtiari and Rodgers maintained a friendship after the latter's trade to the New York Jets in April 2023. They were even seen together at the Kentucky Derby in May, where Rodgers sported a black band on his left ring finger—hinting at his marital status.
Bakhtiari shared a Derby photo on Instagram, which Rodgers liked, further showcasing their connection. Meanwhile, Bakhtiari's wife, Frankie, posted images from the wedding weekend that caught the attention of Rodgers' ex-girlfriend, actress Jessica Szohr, who commented with enthusiasm.
Rodgers addressed the buzz surrounding his marriage during an appearance on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show. He emphasized his desire for privacy in his personal life, stating, “I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye.”
He expressed frustration over the public's curiosity about his relationship, labeling it “so f***ing ridiculous and embarrassing.” He urged people to respect his boundaries: “My private life is my private life. It’s gonna stay that way.”
Rodgers concluded by affirming that if his partner chooses to share their life publicly, it will be on her terms. “She deserves a right to that,” he stated firmly.
