Jul 19 2025

Addison Barger showcased his talent with a career-high four hits, while Will Wagner delivered a pivotal two-run double during a four-run sixth inning, leading the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday.

Tyler Heineman contributed significantly, hitting a home run and driving in three runs, as the Blue Jays continued their impressive form, winning 15 of their last 19 games.

On the mound, Eric Lauer struck out seven batters over six innings, helping the AL East-leading Blue Jays secure their 21st win in the last 25 home games. The team boasts a strong home record of 34-16.

Jeff Hoffman closed the game, earning his 23rd save in 27 opportunities.

Entering the bottom of the sixth inning down 2-0 against Giants' right-hander Logan Webb, the Blue Jays turned the tide as five of the first six batters reached base with hits.

Webb (9-7) struggled, allowing four runs and a season-high 11 hits across six innings.

For the Giants, Willy Adames hit two solo home runs, marking his 13th and 14th of the season, and achieving his ninth career multihomer game.

Lauer (5-2) limited the Giants to two runs and two hits in his six innings of work, retiring the first 13 batters before Adames connected for a homer in the fifth.

Adames narrowed the score to 4-3 with a two-out homer off Chad Green in the seventh inning. However, Heineman quickly responded with a two-run blast off Ryan Walker in the eighth, marking his third home run of the season.

The rally began when Bo Bichette led off the sixth with a ground-ball single, followed by Barger’s double that advanced him to third. After an out, Ernie Clement hit an RBI single, and Wagner's two-run double capped off the scoring surge. Heineman added an RBI double to finalize the inning's output.

The Blue Jays have now posted an impressive 11-3 record in July.

Looking ahead, Giants' left-hander Robbie Ray (9-3, 2.65) is set to face his former team in Sunday’s series finale, while right-hander José Berríos (5-4, 3.75) will take the mound for Toronto.
