Emails Reveal Elon Musk's More Extensive Connections to Epstein Than Previously Disclosed
Newly uncovered emails from the Department of Justice reveal that Elon Musk and Jeffrey Epstein engaged in friendly correspondence in 2012 and 2013, discussing potential visits to Epstein’s private island.
The documents indicate that Musk and Epstein exchanged messages to coordinate a trip to Little St James, although logistical challenges ultimately prevented the visit. On December 13, 2013, Musk inquired, “Will be in the BVI/St Bart’s area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?”

Epstein responded, “any day 1st - 8th. play it by ear if you want. always space for you.” The two settled on January 2 for a potential meeting, but Epstein later expressed disappointment, stating, “Bad news- Unfortunately, my schedule will keep me in New York. I was really looking forward to finally spending some time together with just fun as the agenda.”
In November 2012, Epstein asked Musk about the number of guests for a helicopter ride to his island. Musk replied, “Probably just Talulah and me. What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?” referencing his then-wife Talulah Riley.
On December 25, Musk followed up with another email expressing his desire to unwind after a demanding year. “Do you have any parties planned? I’ve been working to the edge of sanity this year... I really want to hit the party scene in St Barts or elsewhere and let loose,” he wrote.
Epstein acknowledged Musk’s request, noting that the “ratio on my island might make Talulah uncomfortable.” Musk countered, “Ratio is not a problem for Talulah.”
However, by January 2, 2013, Musk indicated that the visit would not happen due to logistical issues, stating simply, “Logistics won’t work this time around.”

Despite Musk's previous criticisms of Epstein, these emails challenge his claims of having no ties to the financier. In a 2019 interview, Musk labeled Epstein as “obviously a creep” and denied any invitations to visit his island.
Additional emails reveal Epstein’s assistant coordinating a lunch at SpaceX in February 2013, confirming that “Elon Musk appreciates the invitation to the Ranch but has commitments.” It remains unclear if this lunch occurred or if Musk attended.
Following a SpaceX rocket launch in March 2013, Musk and Epstein exchanged congratulatory messages. A representative for Musk and his AI company xAI did not respond to requests for comment regarding these revelations.
The emails are part of a larger release of approximately three million documents by the Justice Department. This release comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Epstein’s connections with influential figures.
Musk has faced calls to clarify his relationship with Epstein after previous document releases mentioned him. A calendar entry from 2014 noted a reminder for “Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (is this still happening?),” which Musk denied in a post on X.
He has also distanced himself from Ghislaine Maxwell, claiming a widely circulated photo of them together was merely a coincidence at a Vanity Fair event. Musk stated he visited Epstein’s Manhattan apartment briefly with Riley for research purposes but did not provide specific details.
While denying personal connections to Epstein, Musk has used Epstein’s name in public disputes. He claimed Trump’s name appeared in Epstein’s files during a fallout with the former president and criticized Bill Gates over his association with Epstein.
Musk remarked, “Who does Bill Gates think he is to make comments about the welfare of children given that he frequented Jeffrey Epstein?”
