Sergei Bobrovsky, the standout goalie for the Florida Panthers, is not just making waves this season; he’s also solidifying his legacy among the NHL's all-time greats. With his recent performance, he’s in the running for his third Vezina Trophy, showcasing his skills and determination on the ice.
In a thrilling game against Columbus, Bobrovsky recorded 16 saves, marking his second shutout in just four games and his fourth shutout of the season, leading to a 3-0 victory. This win was monumental, as it brought his career total to 423, tying him with the legendary Tony Esposito for 10th place on the NHL's all-time wins list. What’s even more impressive is that Bobrovsky achieved this milestone in only 742 games, which is 144 games fewer than Esposito's 886.

Once he surpasses Esposito, Bobrovsky will set his sights on other legendary goalies, including Jacques Plante (437), Terry Sawchuk (445), and the all-time leader, Martin Brodeur, who boasts an impressive 691 wins over 1,266 games.
Bobrovsky’s recent form has been nothing short of spectacular. In his last three starts, he has secured three wins, two of which were shutouts, allowing only one goal. After finishing third in the Vezina voting last season, he played a crucial role in helping the Panthers clinch their first Stanley Cup. Currently, he holds a record of 9-2-0 with a stellar .942 save percentage over his last 11 games.
Despite the Blue Jackets' efforts to pressure him, they struggled to create enough challenges. Columbus center Boone Jenner noted, “I don't think we got enough action around him as far as making it difficult on him.” Bobrovsky’s ability to remain composed under pressure continues to set him apart as one of the league's elite goaltenders.
