Craig Conover has a powerful message about negativity and how to flip that mindset on its head.
In a recent video posted to his Instagram Stories on March 29, Conover opened up about a touching experience he had during a trip to Denver, Colorado. The Southern Charm star was gearing up to deliver a speech when his assistant informed him that a mother and her 8-year-old son wanted to meet him. The mom was concerned that her son, who has muscular dystrophy, might struggle to sit through the speech.
Conover shared that he met the family backstage, and during their encounter, the young boy began to cry due to the pain he was experiencing while sitting in his wheelchair. This emotional moment left a lasting impression on Conover, providing him with a fresh perspective on life.
“So the next time you feel negativity creeping in, try doing ten pushups or take a walk, but whatever you do, just stay positive,” he advised, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a positive outlook.
Conover, who has been navigating a very public breakup with Paige DeSorbo, has found reasons to embrace the brighter side of life lately. He recently opened up about his new relationship with Natalie Buffett, sharing the news during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on March 27.
“I’m really happy,” Conover said, revealing that there’s a special someone in his life. He elaborated, “When I date, I usually focus on one person at a time. I’ve been seeing someone, and it’s a reminder that the universe works in mysterious ways, and everything happens for a reason.”
Conover’s relationship with DeSorbo, which began in the summer of 2021, came to an end in December 2024. Following their breakup, both parties have made accusations against each other regarding infidelity. DeSorbo specifically claimed that Conover had been texting other women, a charge he has denied. Meanwhile, DeSorbo has also refuted any allegations of her cheating on Conover.
During the Southern Charm season 10 reunion, which aired partially on March 27, Conover expressed that the person DeSorbo has become since their split is not the person he remembers dating. He mentioned during his WWHL appearance that he is now “focused on moving forward.”
In a recent revelation, Conover disclosed that he returned the engagement ring he had purchased for DeSorbo back to the jeweler. “I just returned it this morning,” he told host Andy Cohen. “Diamonds are down right now, so the jeweler asked if I wanted him to hold it. I just don’t need custody of it anymore, so I took it back.”
Fans were first made aware of the potential engagement two months after the couple’s December breakup when Conover mentioned, “I’m gonna propose. She asked me to buy her a ring, and I did,” in a preview for Southern Charm.
