Serious Injuries Reported in Denver After RTD Train Collides with Scooter
In a recent incident in Denver, a scooter rider was hit by an RTD train, resulting in serious injuries, as confirmed by the police.
According to the Denver Police Department, the collision between the scooter and the Regional Transportation District's A Line commuter train occurred around 1 a.m. on a Sunday near East 42nd Avenue and North Clayton Street, just south of Interstate 70.
Reports indicate that the victim, who remains unidentified, was riding a stand-up scooter when the accident happened.
Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, with paramedics transporting the injured scooter rider to the hospital for treatment of their serious injuries.
Following the crash, Denver police advised the public to anticipate delays in the vicinity as investigations into the incident were underway. Additionally, RTD officials took precautionary measures by suspending part of the A Line's service until further notice.
The A Line, known for its route between Union Station and Denver International Airport, has temporarily ceased operations at its four westernmost stations: Union Station, 38th & Blake Station, 40th & Colorado Station, and Central Park Station.
