Sports betting influencer Amanda Vance experienced a swift decline in her social media following, claiming she "lost 1k [one thousand] followers in 2 minutes" after posting a video during Super Bowl 2026. The incident unfolded in Santa Clara, California, as she filmed herself seemingly disregarding Bad Bunny's halftime performance.
With a substantial following of 538,000 on Instagram, Vance shared footage of herself dancing in the stands at Levi's Stadium. She sported wired headphones while engrossed in Turning Point USA's halftime program on her phone, which featured performances by Kid Rock and other country artists like Brantley Gilbert, Gabby Barrett, and Lee Brice.

"Watching the American halftime show instead of BAD Bunny during the Super Bowl," Vance captioned her post, adding, "I chose America and songs I know."
Television personality and influencer Kat Dunn responded critically, pointing out, "Puerto Rico is in America by the way." She later tweeted about unfollowing Vance, labeling her actions as "performative" during such a significant event.

Dunn elaborated on her decision to unfollow Vance, stating, "Hi I’m one of the people who unfollowed you tonight and personally it was because I thought it was performative as f—k for you to set up a phone to record yourself 'not watching' a halftime performance (that you were literally at) and now I have your band of idiots sending ME (a white American lol) threats of deportation?? so like what are we even doing here?"
She included a screenshot of hostile direct messages she received after voicing her criticism of Vance. One particularly harsh message read, "I hope ICE deports you."
Criticism of Bad Bunny has also come from notable figures like Jake Paul and former U.S. President Donald Trump, primarily due to the artist's vocal protests against ICE. During his 13-minute halftime show, Bad Bunny performed entirely in Spanish, celebrating his Puerto Rican heritage with references to the island's cuisine, artists, and fashion.
In a rare moment of English during his set, he looked directly into the camera and declared, “God Bless America.” His performance concluded with a powerful message of unity, holding a football inscribed with "Together, we are America."

The scoreboard at Levi's Stadium echoed this sentiment with a message stating, "The only thing more powerful than hate is love."
This incident follows another viral moment involving conservative influencer Emily Austin, who garnered attention for her live reaction to Billie Eilish’s “F–k ICE” statement at the 2026 Grammys last Sunday.
