Josh Jung Hits Heartfelt Homer for Mom on Mother's Day

May 11 2025

On Mother's Day, Josh Jung made his mom, Mary, beam with pride by hitting a two-out, two-run homer in the fifth inning against the Detroit Tigers. What made this moment even more special? His brother, Jace, was playing for the Tigers at the same position.

Before the game kicked off, Mary Jung had the honor of delivering the game ball to the mound, with both her sons joining her on the field for a heartwarming moment.

"My heart is just exploding. I mean, I couldn't ask for a better Mother's Day gift," Mary shared during an interview on the Rangers' telecast. "We're all in the same place, to begin with. But then to watch them live their dream, do what they love to do, I couldn't be more proud."

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this was the first time since at least 1969 that a player hit a home run against his brother's team on Mother's Day.

Mary and Jeff Jung have been cheering from the stands throughout the three-game series, witnessing their sons shine, especially during Texas's impressive 10-3 victory on Saturday.
