Karrueche Tran Acknowledges Relationship with Deion Sanders

Aug 29 2025

Karrueche Tran has confirmed her relationship status, putting to rest any lingering doubts about her connection with Deion Sanders. During an appearance on the “What’s Next w/ J. Ryan” podcast on August 29, Tran addressed the dating rumors directly.

“Yeah, I’m dating,” Tran stated when host J. Ryan inquired about her romantic life, playfully referencing her newfound interest in football.

When pressed about whether she was enjoying her current situation, Tran elaborated, “If I wasn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be in it.” The actress, known for her past relationships with Chris Brown and Victor Cruz, emphasized her clarity about what she wants at this stage in her life.

“I’ve dated a lot, I’ve done a lot,” she continued. “So if I wasn’t happy and content and feeling good in my situation, I’m not wasting my time.” Tran expressed a preference for solitude over an unhappy relationship, stating, “I’d rather be at home, namaste. Nine o’clock, doing my own thing if I’m not happy. So yeah, I’m in a good place.”

Tran and Sanders, 58, were first linked romantically last month when she was seen emotionally supporting him at the hospital as he prepared for bladder cancer surgery. In a poignant YouTube video from July 28, Tran struggled to articulate their situation, saying, “We are here at the hospital because we are dealing with…” before revealing the nature of his health battle.

In a follow-up video, she was seen assisting Sanders as he took his first steps post-surgery on May 9, showcasing their supportive bond during a challenging time.

Representatives for both Sanders and Tran have been contacted for comments regarding their relationship status. Sanders is a father of five, sharing children from two marriages: daughter Deiondra, 33, and son Deion Jr., 31, with his first wife Carolyn Chambers; and sons Shilo, 25, and Shedeur, 23, along with daughter Shelomi, 21, from his second marriage to Pilar Biggers-Sanders. The couple finalized their divorce in 2013.

After months of speculation surrounding his health, Sanders publicly announced his bladder cancer diagnosis during a press conference at the University of Colorado on July 28. “This wasn’t easy,” he remarked. “Men, everybody, get checked out. Because if it wasn’t for me getting tested for something else, they wouldn’t have stumbled upon this.”

Sanders is expected to return to the sidelines when Colorado opens their 2025 season at home against Georgia Tech on August 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
