Taylor Swift Connects with Brittany Mahomes After Podcast Recording

Taylor Swift made a call to Brittany Mahomes immediately after recording her episode of the "New Heights" podcast.

During a press conference at the Kansas City Chiefs training camp on August 13, Patrick Mahomes shared, “I knew before y’all did just because they called me after the podcast was done. They didn’t call me, they called Brittany, and I was in the back of the FaceTime.”

He expressed surprise at Swift's choice to join Travis and Jason Kelce on their show. “I’m obviously super excited. Just knowing Taylor and seeing the process from just a little bit closer of how she makes the albums,” he added. “It’s going to be amazing because of how much work she puts into it. What better place to announce it than [the] ‘New Heights’ podcast?”

Speculation about Swift's guest appearance began circulating earlier that week, with confirmation arriving on August 11. Shortly after, she announced her upcoming album, "The Life of Showgirl."

Patrick noted that the podcast would allow Swift to “be herself” and “showcase who she is” while discussing her new record.

“I think people are going to be really excited to watch it tonight,” he remarked. “I haven’t seen it yet. I’ve seen a little bit of the clips just like everybody else, but I’ll be tuned in tonight, I think it’s 7 Eastern. I’ll be able to have something to watch here on this night off that I have.”

As Patrick spoke about the episode, another clip from "New Heights" was released, featuring Jason Kelce giving Swift an enthusiastic introduction.

Jason highlighted Swift’s impressive achievements, including her 149 Eras Tour shows and 14 Grammy Awards, while also referencing her playful comment about Travis being “that guy on the Chiefs.”

“Are you ready for it?” Jason exclaimed. “Making her podcasting debut, the most-requested guest in the history of shows, Taylor Swift.”

Swift humorously responded to Jason’s animated introduction, saying, “Thank you for screaming for, like, 47 seconds for me. That was so nice. That was so sweet. Thanks for having me on my favorite podcast.” She added, “As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. And I think we all know that if there’s one thing male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens — it’s more of me.”
