Klay Thompson Stands Up for Megan Thee Stallion Amid Controversial Podcast Remarks
Klay Thompson took to social media to voice his discontent over derogatory remarks aimed at his girlfriend, Megan Thee Stallion. The incident unfolded on the “Hoopin’ N Hollerin’” podcast, where Jason Williams made an inappropriate comment about Megan during a discussion with co-host Patrick Beverly.
“Referring to my GF as a ‘p****’ is so disgusting and disturbing,” Thompson, 35, expressed in a comment on the podcast's Instagram page. “Especially from someone who played in the NBA. How would y’all feel if I referred to your wives in such a way? @patbev21.”
His remarks came after Williams, 49, suggested that Thompson’s relationship with the rapper could be impacting his performance on the court this season. “I’m from West Virginia, man, I’ve been taught a lot from old folks, old white folks,” Williams stated. “It only takes one p**** to drag a battleship across the desert. That’s how powerful it is.”
Thompson’s current season statistics reflect a decline; he is averaging a career-low 8.5 points per game, significantly down from 14.0 last year. His shooting percentages have also dipped, with a troubling 28.9 percent from three-point range and 32.1 percent overall.

The couple made their relationship public in July when Thompson shared a series of photos on Instagram featuring Megan, albeit without showing her face. They confirmed their status days later at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City.
At the gala, Thompson praised Megan, stating, “Megan is such a special person, and she inspires so many around the world. I’ve seen it firsthand.” He highlighted her philanthropic efforts and expressed pride in supporting her mission.
Megan reflected on her late parents, Joseph Pete III and Holly Thomas, for whom the foundation is named. She shared her belief that they would approve of her relationship with Thompson. “I feel like my mom would’ve been like, ‘Wow, you finally picked a nice man!’” she remarked. “We kissed a lot of frogs, but now we got a real prince! I feel like they would be very proud.”
Thompson echoed this sentiment, expressing a desire to have met her parents. “I know both of them would be so proud of their only daughter because of what — not only what she’s been able to accomplish, but what she’s also going to continue to do,” he said. “She has never been put in a box and continues to inspire so many people around the world.”
As the couple navigates public scrutiny, Thompson’s defense of Megan underscores his commitment to their relationship amidst external challenges.
