Lane Kiffin Addresses Rumors Surrounding His Dog Juice Amid Coaching Transition

Dec 04 2025

As Lane Kiffin transitions from Ole Miss to LSU, questions arise about his yellow lab, Juice. Fans quickly noted Juice was absent from Kiffin's flight to Baton Rouge on November 30, igniting a flurry of speculation.

Online chatter escalated, with some suggesting Juice was never Kiffin's dog or hadn't lived with him for years. One particularly creative fan even shared a photoshopped image depicting Juice left behind on the tarmac.

In an effort to quell the rumors, Juice's social media account posted on December 4, stating, “Can’t wait to get down to Baton Rouge with my dad, brother, and sister!” alongside a photo of LSU’s mascot.

While the truth remains somewhat murky, NFL agent Aaron Brynildson, an Ole Miss alum, provided insight via social media. “Here’s the truth on @JuiceKiffin: yes, he’s Lane’s dog,” he clarified. “Lane got him from @wildrosekennels. Juice is a high-energy hunting dog needing constant attention. Lane doesn’t have the time, so the breeder became Juice’s handler.”

Kiffin himself joined the conversation by sharing a humorous post from SEC Shorts that parodied his relationship with Juice. The skit featured an actor portraying Kiffin using a fictional app to find a dog to improve his public image, prompting Kiffin to respond with laughter.

During his tenure at Ole Miss, Kiffin not only elevated the football program but also made Juice an unofficial mascot. The dog frequently appeared at games and on social media, becoming a beloved figure among fans.

Thus, it was no surprise that Kiffin's departure without Juice drew ire from Ole Miss supporters. Upon leaving the airport, he faced boos from angry fans, and during his introductory press conference at LSU, he recounted a harrowing experience where a fan attempted to run him off the road.

“It was really hard. I’m human,” Kiffin reflected. “Even though you understand it’s the passion [of the fans], you’re with your son and you’ve got to call a cop that you know so they’ll help you because… you got to turn around and people are screaming at you.”

He continued, “That airport scene and all the things being said, I understand it. It’s the passion. But they’re saying that about you… you thought you did a really good job for six years for them. That affects you.”

As Kiffin embarks on this new chapter at LSU, the fate of Juice remains a topic of interest among fans and followers alike.
