Long Island Teen, 18, Accused of Raping Two 11-Year-Old Boys Met on Snapchat, Dismissed Acts as Prank: DA

Jun 15 2025

An 18-year-old from Long Island has been charged with raping two 11-year-old boys he encountered through Snapchat, with prosecutors alleging he dismissed the abuse as mere pranks or dares.

Bradley Schioppa, using the username “paxonhotsg5,” reportedly joined a Snapchat group intended for young boys in the Smithtown area last April, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.

The boys, believing Schioppa was their peer, did not question his involvement in their online conversations. It was only when he began appearing in person at local hangouts, such as Robert A. Brady Park, that they recognized his age difference, prosecutors noted.

Schioppa allegedly drove the boys around, treated them to snacks and soft drinks, and engaged them in playful games. However, during these outings, he is accused of sexually assaulting one boy in the bathroom of Brady Park and the other in a CVS restroom in Smithtown.

In both instances, Schioppa allegedly framed the assaults as pranks or dares that would result in payment for the boys, authorities stated.

The situation came to light in May 2025 when the mother of one victim discovered messages exchanged between her son and Schioppa. Upon questioning her son, he disclosed the alleged abuse.

Following this revelation, law enforcement initiated an investigation that culminated in Schioppa's arrest on May 21. He was arraigned on charges including first-degree rape, second-degree sexual abuse, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis set bail at $450,000 cash, $900,000 bond, or $4.5 million partially secured bond. Schioppa is scheduled to return to court on July 8 and faces a potential 25-year prison sentence if convicted of the most serious charge.

District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney emphasized the gravity of the allegations, stating, “This defendant is accused of committing horrific acts against two innocent children. Protecting our most vulnerable residents, especially children, remains my highest priority.”

Authorities are actively investigating whether Schioppa may have had additional victims and are urging anyone whose child may have interacted with him on Snapchat or through other means to reach out to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office at 631-852-2555 or the Suffolk County Police Department Special Victims Section at 631-852-6531.
