Texas Couple Admits Guilt in Horrific Case of Forcibly Tattooing Young Children with Staple While Bound
A shocking case out of Texas has taken a disturbing turn as a couple has pleaded guilty to tattooing their young children while they were tied up, blindfolded, and gagged. Megan and Gunner Farr, the parents in question, admitted to using a staple to inflict these tattoos on their 5 and 9-year-old children, and their reaction to the discovery of the abuse was chilling—laughing about it.
The couple's heinous actions came to light when Child Protective Services (CPS) was alerted. Following the notification, the Farrs attempted to erase the tattoos by scraping and scrubbing the children's skin so aggressively that it resulted in visible injuries, with reports indicating that "flesh was removed" from the tattoo sites. This alarming detail was confirmed by interim Zavalla Police Chief Lt. James Denby, who stated that the injuries were evident at the locations of the tattoos.

On April 24, 2023, the couple was arrested after CPS became involved in the allegations of child abuse. According to police reports, Megan, 27, and Gunner, 23, restrained their children using rope, blindfolded them with rags, and covered their mouths with tape before using a pointed needle to tattoo their skin. The tattoos were placed on the 5-year-old's foot and the 9-year-old's shoulder, all within the confines of their home in Zavalla.
The children's biological father and stepmother became concerned after noticing the tattoos and subsequently contacted CPS on April 17, 2023. When questioned about the ink, Megan reportedly laughed and drove away, raising further alarm about the situation.

In a desperate attempt to remove the tattoos after CPS's involvement, the Farrs resorted to using lemon juice and other harsh methods to scrub the children's skin. This only added to the trauma the children had already endured. Authorities acted swiftly, removing both children from the home, along with their younger siblings, during a week-long investigation that ultimately led to the recovery of a tattoo kit.
Megan Farr pleaded guilty to injuring a child on Thursday, with her sentencing scheduled for May. Meanwhile, Gunner Farr had already pleaded guilty on March 20 and received a sentence of five years in prison for bodily injury, along with an additional two years for unlawful restraint. Notably, these sentences will be served concurrently.

This case has sparked outrage and concern within the community, highlighting the need for vigilance in protecting children from abuse. The actions of the Farrs have left a lasting impact on the lives of their children, who are now in the care of authorities.
