Magie Wine Bar: A Community Hub in Miami's Little River
Magie Wine Bar invites patrons to indulge in a unique experience where they can pour their own wine and enjoy a variety of bold snacks or full meals. Nestled in Miami's Little River, this wine bar has quickly become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors.
The original location's charm remains intact, even as the owners expand with a new venue in Coconut Grove. The Little River establishment embodies a welcoming vibe, encouraging guests to come as they are and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
Co-owner Chef Ivan Barros, who gained recognition as a winner on Food Network's Ciao House Season 2, along with his partner Caroline Strauss, envisioned Magie as a place for community connection. "So here at Magie, we are very kind of low intervention service, kind of come as you are," Barros shared. "Choose whatever wine you like. We have red wines behind you. We have some chilled wines, some very unique wines, kind of some staff picks, and then you can have meat and cheese, and we kind of build a charcuterie board for you."
With no cover charge or reservations required, Magie truly embodies the spirit of relaxation. The interior design reflects this ethos, featuring furniture sourced from local thrift stores that adds to the cozy ambiance. "It's 'granny chic,'" Strauss remarked with a laugh. "We want you to feel like you're in your living room."
This inviting atmosphere has drawn wine enthusiasts from all corners of the city. Des and David Quintero traveled from West Kendall, captivated by the bar's aesthetic and outdoor space. "This place, the moment we came in with the little outdoor area, the aesthetics, the art, it was, we were sold," Des expressed.
Barros emphasizes a dynamic menu that evolves regularly, keeping the offerings fresh and engaging. "We give them new things to kind of grasp on to and just kind of not take ourselves too seriously and make really good food," he explained.
Among the highlights is the weekly pasta night on Wednesdays, featuring three homemade pasta options for just $15 per plate. Additionally, from Wednesday through Sunday between 6 to 7 p.m., guests can enjoy "power hour," where all-you-can-drink wine is available for $35 per person.
With its blend of quality wines, inventive yet affordable dishes, and an atmosphere that feels like home, Magie Wine Bar has established itself as a standout destination in Little River's vibrant dining scene.
