Naomi and Cardi B's Social Media Showdown Ahead of SummerSlam

Aug 02 2025

WWE women’s champion Naomi is not holding back as she exchanges heated words with rapper Cardi B on social media, just days before the highly anticipated SummerSlam event.

As the countdown to SummerSlam begins, Naomi, 37, and Cardi B, 32, have been trading insults in the lead-up to Cardi's guest hosting role at the event, scheduled for August 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

“She better hope she don’t run into me at MetLife,” Naomi stated in an exclusive interview. “She’s been talking real crazy and reckless and I don’t like that.”

The tension escalated when Naomi invited her followers on X to “say something nice” about her on July 22. Cardi responded with a jab regarding Naomi’s family, saying, “You have amazing in-laws… you should thank them,” referencing Naomi’s husband Jimmy Uso’s parents, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi and Talisua Fuavai-Fatu.

Naomi fired back, declaring, “This means war ⚠️🗡️.” In a separate exchange, after Cardi showcased her natural hair, Naomi threatened to “shave all of that pretty hair off and make me a wig.”

Despite the ongoing feud, Naomi recognizes the significance of having Cardi B involved in WWE. “I love the mainstream crossovers,” she remarked. “Bringing in different, amazing artists and performers into our world and sharing our fan bases is what makes wrestling so cool. Wrestling touches everyone around the world.”

Alongside Cardi B's hosting duties, country music star Jelly Roll will step into the ring with Randy Orton to face Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre on August 2.

Naomi is set to defend her WWE women’s world championship on August 3 in a triple threat match against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. After winning the women’s Money In the Bank ladder match in June, she cashed in her championship contract at WWE Evolution earlier this month.

“I’m still wrapping my head around it,” Naomi expressed regarding her recent victory. “The excitement, the shock, the overwhelming reaction from fans—good and bad—means they feel something. They’re connected to this phase that I’m in, whether they like it or not.”

She added, “They’re making that very vocal, which means I’m doing something right.”

WWE’s two-night SummerSlam will air live on Peacock on August 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. ET.
