Netflix's 'Too Much' Takes a Jab at Cruz Beckham's Love Life
Cruz Beckham found himself the subject of a light-hearted jab in Lena Dunham’s latest Netflix series, *Too Much*.
In the second episode, released on July 10, a conversation unfolds between characters Boss (Leo Reich) and Jessica (Megan Stalter) at their London advertising agency. “I’m making a playlist for my friend,” Boss remarks. “She just got dumped by Cruz Beckham, which is pretty much the lowest thing that’s ever happened to anyone.”
Dunham, who co-created the series with her husband Luis Felber, penned this episode. All ten episodes of *Too Much* are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
The narrative follows Jessica as she relocates to England after ending her relationship with Zev (Michael Zegen) and subsequently falls for indie musician Felix (Will Sharpe). Dunham portrays Nora, Jessica’s older sister.
Meanwhile, Cruz Beckham, now 20, has been in a relationship with Jackie Apostel since last year. The couple first sparked dating rumors in April 2024 and made headlines when they attended the Glastonbury music festival together two months later.
In September 2024, they were seen front row at Paris Fashion Week for a show by Cruz’s mother, Victoria Beckham. The couple sat alongside David Beckham, Brooklyn, and Harper. Jackie donned a dress designed by Victoria and later expressed her admiration on Instagram, stating, “The most beautiful show and the most beautiful dress. Congratulations @victoriabeckham.”
Their relationship appears to be thriving, as Jackie recently commented with heart-eyed emojis on a post Cruz shared on Instagram on July 4.

However, family dynamics within the Beckham household remain strained. Cruz, his brother Romeo, and their parents are reportedly at odds with Brooklyn, 26. Tensions escalated in May when Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, opted out of David’s 50th birthday celebration due to ongoing conflicts with Romeo and his then-girlfriend Kim Turnbull.
Since that incident, Brooklyn and Nicola have maintained their distance from the rest of the family. Cruz has publicly sided with Romeo during this family rift.
A source revealed that David and Victoria Beckham are hopeful for reconciliation. “Friends and people around them see a long road to mending this,” the insider noted. “But there is a desire to mend on David and Victoria’s part.”
On July 10, Brooklyn made a small gesture towards family unity by wishing his sister Harper, 14, a happy birthday on Instagram. “Happy birthday Harper we love u x,” he wrote alongside a photo featuring his siblings and Nicola.
