Jul 03 2025

Marcus Semien launched a three-run homer in the third inning, while Corey Seager added a solo shot in the fifth, leading the Texas Rangers to a commanding 6-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night. Nathan Eovaldi, making his second start after a month-long absence due to elbow inflammation, delivered five solid innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five batters.

In the fourth inning, Ezequiel Duran contributed significantly with a two-run single, further extending the Rangers' lead. Josh Smith showcased his hitting prowess with three singles, and Alejandro Osuna, fresh off his first major league home run, added two singles and a walk to the mix.

The Rangers had a clear plan for Eovaldi (5-3), restricting him to five innings as he continues to recover from his injury. He threw 72 pitches during his outing, demonstrating effective control and resilience on the mound.

Dane Dunning stepped in for three innings of relief, securing his second career save this season. His performance helped maintain the shutout against the Orioles.

On the other side, Baltimore's Ryan O'Hearn managed to go 1 for 4 with a double, shortly after earning his first All-Star selection. The 31-year-old is set to represent the American League as the designated hitter on July 15 in Atlanta.

Seager's fifth-inning homer marked his fourth in just six games, bringing his season total to 11. This offensive display against Baltimore starter Tomoyuki Sugano (6-5) highlighted the Rangers' potent lineup and their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.
