Travis Kelce Engages in Heated Exchange with Broncos Player Amid Chiefs Loss

Nov 17 2025

On a record-setting yet disappointing afternoon, Travis Kelce showcased his competitive spirit during the Kansas City Chiefs' matchup against the Denver Broncos on November 16.

In the second quarter, Kelce found himself on the ground after being tackled by a group of four Broncos players, including cornerback Ja’Quan McMillian, who rolled over him and gave a shove as they stood up.

Kelce responded to McMillian’s aggression with a helmet bump and some trash talk, leading to teammates intervening to separate the two.

Height differences were notable; Kelce stands at 6’5”, while McMillian is listed at 5’10”.

This confrontation ignited discussions on social media, with some fans mocking Kelce for targeting a smaller opponent.

“Travis Kelce loves getting into the faces of guys way smaller than him,” one user quipped on X.

Another added humorously, “McMillian’s small ass had to tippy toe to talk to Kelce dawg 😂😂😂😂.”

One fan even referenced Kelce’s past confrontations, stating, “I have been saying this man has anger issues since the Super Bowl against the 49ers when he got in Coach Reid’s face.”

Despite the heated moments, it was a historic day for Kelce, who set the Chiefs' all-time touchdown receptions record with a 21-yard catch from Patrick Mahomes in the fourth quarter.

However, after the game—attended by neither his fiancée Taylor Swift nor any celebratory mood—Kelce expressed indifference towards his achievement. “If you’re going to ask me about the record, I could care less about that right now,” he told reporters before declining further media engagement.

The Chiefs fell to the Broncos 22-19, with Wil Lutz kicking a game-winning 35-yard field goal as time expired. This loss left Kansas City at 5-5, trailing Denver by three games in the loss column.

Currently, the Chiefs find themselves outside the AFC playoff picture.

In contrast, McMillian had a standout performance, recording two sacks, an interception, and six tackles—five solo. “I just do me,” he stated post-game. “Keep working hard and go out there and do what I’m told to do. I never worry about the outside noise. Just go out there and compete the best I can.”

Meanwhile, in the Chiefs locker room, head coach Andy Reid acknowledged Denver's effort. “Listen, Denver played a good game,” Reid remarked. “They got us today. On our side, I’ve got to make sure that we don’t go three-and-out with those last couple offensive series. There were a variety of things that went on that we all contributed to.”

Reid emphasized the need for improvement: “There were some good things but when you’re playing a good football team, you got to cut back on your penalties, for sure. Too many there, and then some of the other mistakes that we had.”

The road ahead remains challenging for Kansas City as they prepare to host the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts at Arrowhead Stadium on November 23.
