Trump Critiques Journalist's Hair Amid Political Commentary
In a recent social media post, President Trump took a moment to critique the hair of ABC News journalist Jonathan Karl while discussing political matters. This occurred during an episode of This Week With George Stephanopoulos, where Karl interviewed Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor, about the FBI's raid on John Bolton's residence and the Department of Justice's interview with Ghislaine Maxwell.
Christie expressed skepticism regarding the DOJ's reliance on Maxwell as a source, stating, “Ghislaine Maxwell recruited 15-, 16-year-old girls to be sex slaves to Jeffrey Epstein. She was convicted of that in federal court. Why should we believe a damn thing Ghislaine Maxwell would say about anyone?” His comments highlighted the serious implications of Maxwell's past actions.

Following the interview, Trump shifted focus from political discourse to personal attacks, specifically targeting Karl’s hair. On his platform Truth Social, he wrote, “I just watched Sloppy Chris Christie be interviewed on a ratings challenged ‘News’ Show, ‘This Week With George Slopadopolus,’ on ABC Fake News. By the way, what the ‘hell’ happened to Jonathan Karl’s hair? He looks absolutely terrible!”
This outburst comes after ABC settled with Trump for $15 million last year, following a statement made by Stephanopoulos regarding a jury's finding of Trump's liability in a sexual abuse case involving writer E. Jean Carroll. Notably, the jury did not find Trump liable for rape but for sexual abuse.

Trump, who is known for his distinctive hairstyle, has previously described it as a source of his “power.” This claim was mentioned in a documentary about Stormy Daniels, who alleged an affair with Trump and received $130,000 in hush money, leading to his conviction for falsifying business records.
After addressing Karl’s appearance, Trump attempted to revive discussions surrounding the 2013 “Bridgegate” scandal, where toll lanes were closed during rush hour, causing significant traffic delays. Critics alleged that this was a politically motivated act against a Democratic mayor. The fallout resulted in indictments against three of Christie’s aides, which ultimately derailed Christie’s 2016 presidential campaign; however, the Supreme Court later overturned those convictions.

Trump remarked on this incident, stating, “Do you remember the way he lied about the dangerous and deadly closure of the George Washington Bridge in order to stay out of prison?” He further accused Christie of failing to take responsibility for his staff's actions and suggested that this situation warranted renewed scrutiny. “For the sake of JUSTICE, perhaps we should start looking at that very serious situation again? NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!” he concluded.
