Ariel Atkins delivered an impressive performance, scoring 26 points as the Chicago Sky triumphed over the Dallas Wings 94-83 on Saturday night, marking their second victory against the Wings in just three days.
Missing from the Dallas lineup was rookie sensation Paige Bueckers, who was sidelined due to the WNBA's concussion protocol. The No. 1 overall pick from UConn was placed in the protocol following a narrow 97-92 defeat to Chicago just two nights prior.
Chicago's Courtney Vandersloot contributed significantly with 15 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, while Kia Nurse added another 11 points to the scoreboard. The Sky, now holding a record of 2-4, managed to secure a narrow lead at halftime, 46-43, thanks in part to Atkins' 14 first-half points.
Despite shooting only 39% from the field and struggling with their three-point shooting at 4 of 14, Chicago capitalized on their free-throw opportunities, converting 10 of 11 attempts. NaLyssa Smith led the Wings with 20 points, while DiJonai Carrington and Arike Ogunbowale contributed 16 and 15 points, respectively, though Ogunbowale faced challenges with her shooting, finishing at 5-of-16.

The game saw both teams combine for an impressive 51 free throws, with Chicago making 26. The Sky also outperformed Dallas in three-pointers, sinking eight compared to the Wings' four.
This loss marked the 25th consecutive defeat for Dallas when scoring 84 points or fewer. Looking ahead, Chicago will enjoy a week off before facing the Indiana Fever on June 7, while Dallas prepares for a matchup against Seattle on Tuesday.
