Boston Legacy FC Launches New Logo and Plans for 2026 Season
Boston Legacy FC, the latest addition to the National Women's Soccer League, showcased its new logo to an enthusiastic crowd on Saturday at Boston Common.
The gathering featured a variety of food, engaging activities, and a watch party for an NWSL match, but the focus remained squarely on the team's crest and its supporters.
"The swan symbolizes Boston's spirit—fierce, loyal, and territorial, embodying our club's values of inclusiveness, grit, and style," stated Jennifer Epstein, founder of Boston Legacy FC.
After months of development, the logo is designed to resonate deeply with local fans.
The color green reflects Boston's lush parks, particularly Franklin Park, which will host their future home ground, White Stadium. The shield design signifies Boston's rich sports heritage while looking forward to a new era.
However, White Stadium will not be ready for the team's inaugural season; instead, they will kick off at Gillette Stadium in 2026.
"We have significant work ahead. Renovations at White Stadium are ongoing with the city of Boston. Our launch will take place at Gillette," Epstein noted.
Boston Unity Soccer Partners, an all-female ownership group, acknowledged the challenges ahead. They proposed refurbishing White Stadium to prepare for their first season in the NWSL.
This proposal faced legal challenges from local residents who argued that the renovations would privatize a public resource. Nevertheless, a judge ruled in April that demolition could proceed.
"Whether we play at Gillette or White Stadium, our priority is ensuring a great fan experience even before our official launch in 2026," said Michael Omenazu, Director of Community Engagement.
Excitement is palpable among soccer fans eager for Boston Legacy FC to take the field. Despite the delay in opening White Stadium, supporters remain committed to backing the team.
"As long as they start playing, we’ll be there for them. Supporting the team comes first; the stadium will follow," expressed fan Omar Lelenta.
Boston Legacy FC is set to begin its season at Gillette Stadium in March 2026, with plans to transition to White Stadium in 2027.
