Cowboys' Tyler Guyton Faces 4-6 Week Recovery Due to Knee Fracture

Jul 28 2025

During Monday's practice, Cowboys left tackle Tyler Guyton sustained an injury, marking the second setback for Dallas' offensive line in just two days.

Reports indicate that Guyton has a fracture in his right knee. Fortunately, surgery will not be necessary, but he is expected to be out for four to six weeks. With the Cowboys set to face the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4, a longer recovery could jeopardize his participation in this crucial NFC East matchup.

Guyton, who was selected in the first round of the draft from Oklahoma, had a promising rookie season, starting 11 games and appearing in 15 overall. The Cowboys were relying on the 6-foot-7, 325-pound lineman to enhance his performance in his second year as part of a revamped offensive line.

In addition to Guyton's injury, the team also lost reserve lineman Rob Jones for two to three months due to a broken bone in his neck, which he suffered during the first padded practice on Sunday. Jones was in competition with rookie first-round draft pick Tyler Booker for the starting right guard position.
