Dicky Lovelady Receives $250K Adult Film Offer Following Viral Nickname
Richard Lovelady, a pitcher for the New York Mets, has found himself at the center of an unusual offer after his nickname, “Dicky,” gained traction. The adult entertainment platform CamSoda reached out with a proposal that could net him $250,000.
On June 28, the company made its intentions clear in a statement to TMZ Sports, suggesting that Lovelady’s skills as a left-handed relief pitcher make him an ideal candidate for a new venture. “As a left-handed relief pitcher known for handling pressure, we think he’s the perfect fit to bring some heat in a whole new arena,” a spokesperson remarked.
Daryn Parker, CamSoda’s vice president, elaborated on the offer, emphasizing Lovelady's potential appeal to their audience. “You’ve made a name for yourself in high-stakes situations, and we believe that same confidence and control could be a hit with our audience,” Parker stated in a letter directed to Lovelady. He added that the company is ready to handle all technical aspects of production, inviting Lovelady to simply bring his unique presence.
Earlier this month, Lovelady was called up to the Major League and requested to be known by his nickname. Following the Mets’ announcement on June 23, he confirmed his preference for “Dicky” over his formal name. “For those asking, yes, new Mets reliever Richard Lovelady has requested to go by his nickname Dicky,” tweeted Mets reporter Anthony DiComo.
While Lovelady embraces his nickname on the field, he maintains that his official name will still appear on baseball cards and scoreboards. His journey in Major League Baseball began in 2019 with the Kansas City Royals, and he has since played for several teams including the Oakland Athletics and Chicago Cubs.

Despite the buzz surrounding his nickname and the adult film offer, Lovelady is off the market. He married Maddie Lovelady in November 2019, sharing his joy on Instagram with a heartfelt message about their wedding day.
The couple recently announced they are expecting another child, adding to their family which already includes their son JT. While they have not disclosed JT's birth date publicly, Lovelady shared a glimpse of their growing family on social media in September 2024, celebrating his wife’s birthday with a touching post.
As Lovelady navigates his baseball career and personal life, the unexpected attention from CamSoda adds an intriguing chapter to his story. The intersection of sports and entertainment continues to blur as athletes like Lovelady find themselves in the spotlight for reasons beyond their athletic prowess.
