Eagles' Dallas Goedert Reflects on Challenging Offseason as OTAs Kick Off

May 28 2025

The Philadelphia Eagles, now the reigning Super Bowl champions for only the second time in their history, kicked off organized team activities (OTAs) at the NovaCare Complex on Wednesday.

Attendance was strong, with notable players like Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts showing up despite the voluntary nature of the practices.

New offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo addressed the media for the first time since his appointment in February. Having spent four seasons on the Eagles' coaching staff under head coach Nick Sirianni, Patullo emphasized the importance of his established relationships with the players.

"I've been in each room, every year with the receivers and quarterbacks and kind of spreading my knowledge around," Patullo explained, reflecting on his previous roles as pass game coordinator and associate head coach before succeeding Kellen Moore. "So now, it's just a matter of getting to know the players at a different level."

Patullo expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with tight end Dallas Goedert, who navigated a tumultuous offseason filled with trade rumors. Ultimately, Goedert secured a new deal that aligns with his desire to remain in Philadelphia. "There was a time where I wasn't here for the beginning of OTAs; we were trying to figure out what was going to happen," Goedert admitted.

Meanwhile, second-year cornerback Cooper DeJean described his offseason as a whirlwind. The drive for another Super Bowl title fuels their determination. "It's crazy, it's crazy," DeJean remarked. "Everyone in this city loves Eagles football, and you can tell that, especially after you win a championship. But going into next season, they're going to expect that same thing again."

The Eagles will pause OTAs on Thursday before resuming practice on Friday. They have several OTA sessions scheduled leading up to mandatory minicamp on June 10.
