Filming of "Hershey" Concludes in Pittsburgh
"Hershey," a biopic detailing the life of the iconic chocolatier Milton Hershey, has completed filming in the Pittsburgh area. The production, directed by Mark Waters, commenced in May and utilized various locations including South Side, Downtown, Ligonier, Butler County, and Fayette County, all transformed to reflect the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
During the shoot, cast and crew engaged with the local culture, even attending a Pittsburgh Pirates game. Daniel Hank, the film's executive producer, took the opportunity to connect with students at the University of Pittsburgh and aspiring filmmakers at CreatePA's Lights! Camera! Career! event.
The Pittsburgh Film Office expressed gratitude on social media for the positive impact the film has had on the community and local economy. They acknowledged the support from state legislators, including Pennsylvania state Sen. Camera Bartolotta and Sen. Kim Ward, emphasizing the importance of local backing for the film industry.
"Without the support of our local legislators and the PA Film Tax Credit, film production in the region would not be possible!" stated the Pittsburgh Film Office in their Facebook post.
Starring Alexandra Daddario as Catherine "Kitty" Hershey and Finn Wittrock as Milton Hershey, the film is set to be released in 2026.
