Golden State Valkyries Re-sign Kaitlyn Chen and Chloe Bibby

Jun 15 2025

The Golden State Valkyries confirmed the re-signing of Kaitlyn Chen and Chloe Bibby on Sunday, bolstering their roster as they prepare for the next challenge.

Both players showcased their skills during preseason matchups against the Los Angeles Sparks and the Phoenix Mercury, contributing to the team's early strategies.

Chen, selected 30th overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft, brings a wealth of potential back to the squad. Bibby, who joined the Valkyries in February, adds depth and experience to the lineup.

Previously, the Valkyries waived Chen and Bibby along with Laeticia Amihere, Elissa Cunane, and Migna Toure. However, Amihere made her return to the team on June 8 and played a pivotal role in Saturday's victory over the Seattle Storm.

As they gear up for Tuesday's matchup against the Dallas Wings, the Valkyries are riding a three-game winning streak. This upcoming game is particularly significant as it is part of the Commissioner's Cup series.

Currently positioned second in the standings with a 3-2 record, the Valkyries aim to improve their overall season performance, which stands at 5-5.

Chen's return also means a reunion with her former University of Connecticut teammate Paige Bueckers. During her WNBA Draft press conference, Chen expressed her excitement about supporting Bueckers at the draft when she was selected by the Valkyries.

The duo previously celebrated a championship together in 2025 while at UConn, adding a layer of camaraderie to their professional journey.

Fans can catch the action live on KPIX 5 as the Valkyries look to extend their winning streak.
