Nude Joyride: Woman Arrested for Stealing and Crashing Car in La Porte, Indiana

La Porte County, Indiana, witnessed a rather unusual crime scene as a woman found herself in hot water after allegedly stealing a car and crashing it while in the nude. The incident, which occurred on a Sunday evening, led to the arrest of Michelle N. Reeves, a 37-year-old resident of La Porte, on various felony and misdemeanor charges.

According to reports from the La Porte County Sheriff's Office, the chaos unfolded shortly after 6 p.m. when a deputy was summoned to the 200 block of West Greenlawn Drive following a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, a homeowner disclosed that the driver, later identified as Reeves, had initially been unclothed and had even ventured into their residence to take a shower, despite not being a resident of the home.

The homeowner recounted that the silver 2007 BMW involved in the crash had first collided with a basketball hoop before coming to a halt after hitting a tree. The deputy, upon entering the home, discovered Reeves barricaded in the bathroom. After issuing commands, Reeves emerged from the bathroom, draped in just a towel.

Subsequent investigations revealed that Reeves had purportedly stolen the idling BMW from a neighboring property. Following her apprehension, Reeves was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation before being transferred to the La Porte County Jail. She is currently in custody, with a $755 cash-only bond set by the Circuit Court.
