In a surprising turn of events, Kevin Acklin has decided to step down from his position as the President of Business Operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins. The unexpected announcement was made by Teddy Werner, the Senior Vice President of Strategic Operations at Fenway Sports Management, during the 2025 Night of Assists Gala held at Rivers Casino.

Having dedicated seven remarkable seasons to the Penguins, Acklin expressed his gratitude and reflected on his time with the organization. "After seven incredible seasons with the Penguins, I have decided that I will be moving on from my role as president of business operations," Acklin stated in a released statement.

Originally joining the Penguins in 2018 as the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Acklin's contributions were quickly recognized, leading to his appointment as the team's Chief Operating Officer (COO). Hailing from Pittsburgh, Acklin was appointed as the President of Business Operations in 2022, marking a significant milestone in his career.
