Asmongold's Stance on Streaming Contracts: Why He Refuses Even $1 Billion
Asmongold, a prominent figure in the world of Twitch streaming, has recently shed light on his decision to steer clear of signing any streaming contracts, even turning down a staggering $1 billion offer. Known for his candid approach, Asmongold shared his perspective during a Twitch stream on February 14, emphasizing the value he places on personal freedom.
Having started his streaming journey on Twitch, Asmongold initially operated from his primary account before transitioning to his secondary channel, Zackrawrr, following the tragic loss of his mother in 2021. For three years, he refrained from monetizing his content until December 2024, when he finally decided to do so after Twitch urged him to attain partnership status, citing financial losses on their end.
During the stream, Asmongold revealed his rationale for eschewing streaming contracts that many of his peers have embraced. He expressed, “I never pursued a contract like that because I didn’t like feeling committed to streaming. To me, freedom in my life is paramount, and no monetary figure could sway me otherwise.”
He elaborated, “The ability to make choices freely, to express myself without constraints, and to decide my own path holds more significance to me than any sum of money. That's why I opted out of signing any contract, not to mention dealing with advertisements.”

When probed about whether he would reconsider for a staggering $1 billion, Asmongold promptly dismissed the notion, stating, “No, I don’t need a billion dollars. What substantial change would it bring to my life? I can already leverage my influence and insights to pursue various endeavors without being tied down by a contract.”
In 2023, amidst speculations about a potential move to Kick following xQc’s lucrative $100 million deal, Asmongold affirmed his loyalty to Twitch, asserting that he would not entertain exclusive offers from other platforms. Despite facing rejection from Twitch in 2021 for a custom contract, Asmongold remained steadfast in his decision to maintain his independence.
