Chicago Bulls Dominate Philadelphia 76ers in Crushing Victory

Feb 25 2025

In a stunning turn of events, the Chicago Bulls triumphed over the Philadelphia 76ers with a commanding 142-110 victory, breaking their six-game losing streak. Josh Giddey showcased an outstanding performance with 25 points, 16 rebounds, and six assists, leading the Bulls to a resounding win on Monday night.

Kevin Huerter contributed 23 points, Zach Collins added 19, and Matas Buzelis scored 17 points, propelling the Bulls to a lead of up to 50 points in the fourth quarter, dealing a devastating blow to the 76ers who suffered their eighth consecutive loss.

Prior to this game, the Bulls had struggled, losing 11 of their last 15 matches. Despite this, they currently hold the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. On the other hand, the 76ers find themselves in 12th place, trailing by 2 1/2 games.

Paul George and Kelly Oubre Jr. each scored 19 points for the 76ers, with Tyrese Maxey adding 13 points. However, their efforts were not enough as Philadelphia faced defeat for the 10th time in their last 11 games.

Notably, the Bulls achieved season-highs in both first-half points, scoring 75, and total points in a game. Despite challenges, such as Lonzo Ball's early exit due to a head laceration and Nik Vucevic's absence due to left calf tightness, the Bulls delivered a stellar performance.

Meanwhile, the 76ers encountered significant setbacks as they played without their star player, Joel Embiid, who was undergoing evaluation for his left knee. Embiid, who has only participated in 19 games this season, was sorely missed by the team. Additionally, Maxey displayed resilience by playing through a right finger injury.

Philadelphia's woes continued during the game when Guerschon Yabusele had to be assisted off the court in the third quarter after a facial injury, and Quentin Grimes exited due to knee soreness.

The Bulls wasted no time asserting their dominance, hitting three of their first four shots from beyond the arc, quickly establishing a 21-12 lead. Their sharp shooting continued as they maintained a 52% field goal percentage in the first half.

Conversely, the 76ers struggled with slow starts, a recurring issue for the team. In recent games, they have conceded high points early on, including 40 points in the first quarter against Brooklyn and 72 in the first half against Boston. Against the Bulls, they allowed 39 points in the opening quarter.
