Missouri man arrested again after 'attempting to engage in sexual acts with a train seat for 10 minutes'
A Missouri man facing charges for the second time in just a year for trying to engage in a sexual act with a seat on the MetroLink. This bizarre incident adds to a string of shocking transport-related stories that have emerged this year, including a woman giving birth on a subway train in New York and a man pleading not guilty to burning a woman to death on an underground train.

Deangelo Covington was charged this week by St. Louis County prosecutors with two counts of misdemeanor sexual misconduct. According to reports from Fox 2 Now, a woman reported to the police that on February 13th, she witnessed Covington exposing himself at the UMSL South MetroLink Station.
On the same day, authorities stated that Covington boarded a train at the Central West End Station. Upon arriving at the Lambert Airport Station, he allegedly took out his genitals and proceeded to engage in sexual acts with the upper bar of one of the train seats for approximately ten minutes. This shocking behavior was captured on surveillance video, as confirmed by the police.

Interestingly, Covington had only been released from county jail about ten weeks prior, following a sexual misconduct charge from June. In that earlier incident, he was seen by a train engineer with his genitals exposed and attempting to engage in sexual activity with a seat. He ultimately pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 173 days in jail.
On February 25th, Covington faced new charges, including two counts of first-degree sexual misconduct. During a hearing on March 3rd, a judge denied his request to lower his $50,000 bond, indicating the seriousness of the situation.
Kevin Scott, the Bi-State Development General Manager of Security, stated, “The first thing we do is we start pulling video. So in this particular case, we’re able to provide very detailed, very descriptive video.” He also confirmed that Covington is now on an exclusionary list and will receive a lifetime ban from the trains, as reported by Fox 2 Now.
During a court hearing on Monday, it was revealed that Covington had drugs in his system at the time of his arrest. He has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Notably, last May, he was convicted of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15, further complicating his legal troubles.
