Florida Man Arrested After Allegedly Placing Decapitated Cat Heads on Resident's Mailbox
A Florida resident has been arrested following the discovery of two decapitated cat heads placed on a mailbox in Bonita Springs. The Lee County Sheriff's Office has initiated an investigation into what authorities describe as acts of violence against animals.

The disturbing incident came to light when an unidentified homeowner stumbled upon the gruesome sight of the cat heads placed in a cardboard box atop their mailbox. Sheriff Carmine Marceno expressed outrage over the incident, emphasizing the need for justice for the innocent animals involved.

As the investigation unfolded, authorities identified Robert James Luther III, 37, as a suspect. He was apprehended while fishing nearby, and search warrants executed at his location revealed "disturbing cell phone videos" in which he referenced and depicted the deceased cats. However, the motive behind this shocking act remains unclear, as does the connection, if any, between Luther and the homeowner.

Luther has been charged with two counts of aggravated stalking and two counts of aggravated animal cruelty. Sheriff Marceno stated, "Heinous violent acts, especially toward innocent animals, are beyond unacceptable, and any offender will face severe consequences to the fullest extent of the law." He also praised the collaborative efforts of multiple units that led to Luther's arrest, ensuring that he could not harm anyone else.

Despite the serious charges, Luther invoked his rights and declined to speak with law enforcement. The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the case, and further information is expected to be released as the situation develops.
