Michigan State Dominates Bryant with 87-62 Win in NCAA Tournament

In a thrilling NCAA Tournament matchup, second-seeded Michigan State showcased their strength with an 87-62 victory over No. 15 seed Bryant on Friday night. Coen Carr led the charge with an impressive 18 points and nine rebounds, while Jase Richardson contributed 15 points to the Spartans' success under coach Tom Izzo.

Despite trailing for much of the first 15 minutes, Michigan State (28-6) found their rhythm and took control of the game. The Spartans, known for their depth, had five players scoring in double figures, demonstrating their offensive prowess.

Next up, Michigan State will face 10th-seeded New Mexico on Sunday in the second round of the South Region. The Lobos secured their spot by defeating Marquette 75-66, setting the stage for an exciting matchup.

On the other side, Bryant (23-12) was led by Rafael Pinzon, who scored 21 points, while Earl Timberlake added 14. The Bulldogs started strong, scoring the first five points and keeping pace with the Spartans for much of the first half. Keyshawn Mitchell's 3-pointer briefly put Bryant ahead 24-21, but Michigan State quickly responded with a 10-0 run, with Carr scoring the first five points of that surge.

This victory marks Michigan State's second encounter with a New Mexico team in the NCAA Tournament, having previously defeated New Mexico State in the first round back in 2010.
