Model's Blackmail Attempt on Married Man Ends in Suspended Sentence
An OnlyFans model, Bethan Guy, 29, found herself in legal trouble after attempting to blackmail a married man by threatening to disclose his engagement with her adult content to his wife. The situation unfolded when the man failed to meet her financial demands.
Following his failure to comply with her requests, Guy resorted to threatening to reveal to the man's wife that he had been viewing her explicit content. Subsequently, in a bid to prevent the exposure and potential fallout with his family, the man paid Guy £450. However, when she demanded additional funds, he decided to involve the authorities, leading to Guy's arrest.
During the court proceedings at Swindon Crown Court in December 2023, Guy admitted to the crime of blackmail. Despite the charges against her, Guy continued to promote her OnlyFans profile, showcasing nude photos and explicit videos of herself engaging in sexual activities with men and using sex toys.
As the legal process unfolded, on October 15, Guy received a two-year prison sentence, which was fortunately suspended for two years. In addition to the suspended sentence, she was mandated to complete 225 hours of unpaid community work, attend 12 sessions of mental health treatment, and participate in 15 rehabilitation activity days under the supervision of the probation service.
Moreover, as part of the court's ruling, Guy was instructed to compensate the man she attempted to blackmail by repaying him £450 at a rate of £50 per month.
In a reflective Instagram post made in July, Guy acknowledged her actions as a "mistake and stupidity." She expressed regret, stating, "If I could go back to the moment it happened I would because it honestly was just a mistake, but this small mistake has now cost me so much pain and dread I can’t even explain."
She further advised her followers, "If I could give anyone advice it’ll be don’t think you’re untouchable because something will catch up one day."
Despite the initial deferral of Guy's sentencing until August by Judge Jason Taylor in February, the final sentencing was delayed until last week due to court-related delays.
