Pole Vaulter Anthony Ammirati's Shirtless Training Pics Show Off His Jacked Physique
French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati, who gained fame for his memorable bulge moment at the 2024 Paris Olympics, is making waves again, this time for his chiseled physique. The 21-year-old athlete recently took to Instagram to share a couple of shirtless snapshots, showcasing his toned muscles and bronzed skin.
In one of the photos, Ammirati is depicted carrying what seems to be a pole for vaulting, with his phone snugly tucked into his gray athletic shorts. Another picture captures him pensively gazing into the distance, illuminated by the setting sun.
"On the agenda for me is to run fast and strengthen the beast as much as possible before I can jump back with a brand new back at the end of December 🏋️♂️," captioned Ammirati, hinting at his ongoing rehabilitation from an injury.
Aside from his Instagram posts, Ammirati has been treating his nearly 60k TikTok followers to glimpses of his workout routines, often shirtless. "A quick look at my session this morning :)," he wrote alongside a video shared on December 6, showcasing various exercises at an outdoor gym.
Ammirati shot to global attention during the Paris Olympics when his bulge incident caused the crossbar to topple during the semifinals, resulting in him finishing 15th and missing out on a shot at the medal round.
"It's a big disappointment," expressed Ammirati through a statement from the French Athletics Federation post-event. "The conditions were good. It's the first time I've started a competition without any stress. As I was a total outsider, I only had one goal: to play with the audience. I was almost there."
Despite the setback, Ammirati managed to maintain a sense of humor about the situation, leading to a surge in his social media following. "POV: You create more buzz for your package than your performances," he humorously captioned a TikTok video of himself dining in the Olympic Village, set to the tune of "Sad Spongebob Music."
Following his return from Paris, Ammirati regrouped and found success on the track. Free from the bulge mishap, his ENVOL team secured a French national championship title.
"Congratulations to our 4 athletes who won the club's first national team title today 🏆," announced ENVOL via an Instagram post on October 20, accompanied by a photo of Ammirati and his teammates proudly displaying their gold medals.
