Kianna Underwood's Nickelodeon Co-Star Seeks Assistance as Police Locate SUV in NYC Hit-and-Run Tragedy
Kianna Underwood, a former star of Nickelodeon's "All That," was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Brooklyn. The tragedy unfolded on January 16, when Underwood, 33, was struck by two vehicles while crossing Pitkin Boulevard. Police have since located the Ford SUV involved in the initial collision.

Angelique Bates, a fellow cast member from "All That," shared an emotional plea on Instagram in November 2023, revealing that she had been unaware of Underwood's homelessness in New York City. “I don’t understand why no one’s talking about it,” Bates expressed, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
Bates, who was part of the original cast alongside Kenan Thompson, urged both her peers and Nickelodeon executives to take action to assist Underwood. “She’s like literally one of the babies,” Bates remarked, referring to Underwood's late entry into the show.

Underwood's tenure on "All That" concluded in 2005, but her struggles continued long after. She became a familiar face on the streets of Brownsville, where she ultimately met her tragic fate. According to sources, the first driver of the Ford SUV struck Underwood while she was in the crosswalk against the signal, veering into oncoming traffic to bypass a stopped vehicle.
Witnesses reported that Underwood was thrown across the intersection upon impact. The driver briefly halted before fleeing the scene. A second vehicle, described as a black and gray sedan, subsequently ran over her and dragged her several hundred feet.

As investigations continue, NYPD has impounded the Ford SUV and is working diligently to identify its driver. The community has expressed profound sorrow over Underwood's death, with Bates sharing her grief online. “Y’all have no idea how much this one hurts… Sick to my stomach…. So many people failed baby girl,” she lamented following the tragic news.
The circumstances surrounding Underwood's death have ignited discussions about the need for support systems for former child stars facing hardships. As police work to piece together the events leading up to this devastating incident, the call for action grows louder.
