Lollapalooza 2025 Launches in Grant Park with Tyler the Creator and Luke Combs
Grant Park buzzes with anticipation as Lollapalooza 2025 kicks off Thursday, drawing hundreds of thousands of music enthusiasts from across the nation.
With street closures and security checkpoints firmly in place, city officials emphasize the importance of safety throughout the festival. Attendees are encouraged to remain vigilant and plan their visits accordingly.
This year’s festival spans four days, showcasing over 170 artists across eight stages. Each day, more than 100,000 fans are expected to flood downtown Chicago, making it the city’s largest music event.
Public safety remains paramount, according to the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications. New measures include bag policies and drone restrictions, all aimed at ensuring a secure environment for festivalgoers.
The festival grounds extend from Michigan Avenue to DuSable Lake Shore Drive, prompting extensive street closures. Drivers should anticipate significant delays when navigating downtown.
Festivalgoers have already begun lining up outside the gates, some arriving as early as 5 a.m. in hopes of securing prime spots near their favorite acts. “My friend and I got here at 1 a.m.,” shared Lane Nevers from Ohio. “We’re very particular about being first because you never know what’s gonna happen. We even brought our tent and shower liners to stay dry.”
As attendees prepare for entry, it’s crucial to note that only clear bags are permitted inside the festival grounds. All entrants will undergo airport-style security checks.
Headliners Tyler the Creator and Luke Combs are set to take the stage Thursday night, promising an electrifying start to the weekend.
Gates open at 11 a.m., marking the beginning of an unforgettable musical journey.
