NYC Cop Accused of Shielding Drug Dealer Boyfriend, Fired Amid Lawsuit Over Revealing Photo

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch terminated Alisa Bajraktarevic, a former NYPD officer, on May 2, following her suspension for allegedly obstructing an investigation into her boyfriend, Kelvin Hernandez, who is accused of drug dealing.

Bajraktarevic, 34, from Yonkers, had been part of the Robbery Squad and faced a 30-day suspension after attempting to prevent officers from searching Hernandez's vehicle during a traffic stop in the Bronx last year. Witnesses reported that both she and Hernandez protested vehemently as police surrounded their car.

Hernandez, 33, was charged with resisting arrest and is currently involved in his own lawsuit against the NYPD. Bajraktarevic maintained that he was not involved in drug sales, despite police sources indicating he was under investigation.

“Narcotics had been watching him,” a police source revealed. “They didn’t know who she was until she stepped up and identified herself.”

In addition to her recent dismissal, Bajraktarevic is embroiled in a lawsuit against the NYPD regarding a topless photo that circulated among officers. She claims her career suffered after an officer she briefly dated, Lt. Mark Rivera, shared the image in a group chat.

The lawsuit alleges that Rivera disseminated the photo without her consent, leading to widespread sharing within the department. Bajraktarevic has also posted suggestive images on social media platforms like Instagram and Reddit, including one from Cancun where she is seen in a thong bikini.

After 12 years with the NYPD, Bajraktarevic is seeking unspecified damages from the city and individuals involved in her case, including Rivera and another supervisor she accuses of sexual harassment in 2022.

Her attorney, John Scola, characterized her firing as “retaliatory,” asserting that her complaints about sexual harassment and the unauthorized sharing of her photograph were significant factors in her termination. “There is no doubt that our client’s internal complaints and her lawsuit against the NYPD were the true motivating factors behind her termination,” Scola stated. “We are confident that once this matter is adjudicated, the retaliatory nature of her discharge will be fully exposed.”

The NYPD confirmed Bajraktarevic's termination but declined to provide further comments on the situation.
