Pablo López to Miss 8 to 12 Weeks with Shoulder Strain
Pablo López, the Minnesota Twins' right-handed pitcher, will be out of action for 8 to 12 weeks due to a strained shoulder. The team announced on Wednesday that he has suffered a Grade 2 strain of the teres major muscle.
In his last outing, López secured a win against the Athletics, contributing to a 10-3 victory. He pitched five innings, allowing two runs on four hits before exiting the game due to discomfort in his shoulder.
The 29-year-old Venezuelan has had a strong season thus far, boasting a record of 5-3 and an impressive 2.82 ERA over 11 starts. His performance earned him an All-Star selection last season, and he signed a four-year contract extension with the Twins in 2023.
As of Thursday morning, the Twins are positioned second in the AL Central with a record of 34-27, navigating the season without one of their key pitchers for the foreseeable future.
