The Philadelphia 76ers have officially added Johni Broome, a center from Auburn University, to their roster, selecting him as the 35th overall pick in the second round of the NBA Draft.

Broome expressed his enthusiasm in a video shared on social media, stating he is "ready to work" and considers being drafted by the Sixers a significant blessing.

Standing at 6-foot-10, Broome had an impressive senior season, averaging 18.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.1 blocks, and 0.9 steals across 36 games. His performance earned him recognition as "an excellent offensive rebounder" capable of creating space near the basket.

Earlier in the draft, the Sixers made headlines by selecting VJ Edgecombe from Baylor University in the first round. Edgecombe, a dynamic guard known for his athleticism, was honored as the Big 12 freshman of the year after a standout season where he averaged 15 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.1 steals.

Describing his draft experience as "surreal," Edgecombe is eager to join his new teammates and contribute to the team's success.
