Travis Kelce Enjoys High School Football Game with Former Teammate

Nov 15 2025

Travis Kelce immersed himself in the excitement of high school football on Friday night, attending a playoff game between Mill Valley and St. James Academy in Kansas.

On November 14, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was spotted enjoying the action alongside former teammate Blake Bell, both of whom have celebrated three Super Bowl victories with the Chiefs (2019, 2022, and 2023). Their presence at the game was to support Anthony Sherman, a former teammate now serving as an assistant coach at St. James Academy.

A video shared by KSHB 41 reporter Matt Foster on X captured Kelce's enthusiasm as he cheered from end zone seats. The official account for Mill Valley Football also acknowledged Kelce's attendance with a friendly shoutout: “What’s up @tkelce.”

In a nail-biting finish, St. James Academy triumphed over Mill Valley with a score of 45-41, clinching their spot in the next round of playoffs. The winning touchdown came just 14 seconds before the final whistle.

Adding to the connection, St. James’ senior running back, Jake House, is the son of Chiefs senior defensive assistant coach Matt House. Jake had an impressive performance, scoring four touchdowns and racking up 81 yards on 13 carries, including a standout 44-yard run.

As for Kelce, he has been instrumental in the Chiefs' current season, contributing to their 5-4 record. The team is set to face off against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 16.

Kelce has participated in all nine games this season. After a rocky start of 2-3, the Chiefs managed to secure three consecutive wins before suffering a loss to the Buffalo Bills. Following that defeat, the team enjoyed a bye week.

During this break, Kelce took a trip to New York City to spend time with his fiancée, Taylor Swift. The couple has been together since 2023 and recently got engaged in August.

Reflecting on his time in New York, Kelce shared with his brother Jason on their “New Heights” podcast, “I got out of the house a little bit [and] I went over to New York. [I] just hung out, man, put [my] feet up, saw some cool places [and] ate some great food.”

He expressed his appreciation for the changing seasons, stating, “It’s my favorite time now as the seasons are changing to be around the Midwest and the Northeast.”

Kelce also discussed the importance of the bye week for athletes, emphasizing it as an opportunity to reset and step back from the rigorous demands of professional sports. “You get so ingrained in the routine of things... The bye week is just that. If you’re fortunate enough to come out healthy and you can get away. I like to get away and recharge,” he noted.
