Travis Kelce Hesitates to Sing Taylor Swift's Song at Event
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, found himself in a moment of bashfulness when asked to sing a Taylor Swift song during a recent podcast appearance.
At his Tight End University event, Kelce, 35, was prompted by the hosts of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast to reveal his favorite Swift track. After a brief pause for thought, he responded, “I mean, I guess ‘So High School.’”
When the conversation shifted to whether he would sing a few lines from the song, Kelce’s demeanor changed. With a shy smile, he declined, saying, “Nah, nah. Dude, I’m nervous!”
His choice of “So High School” is particularly noteworthy, as it is believed to be inspired by his relationship with Swift, who is also 35. The song appears on the Anthology version of her album The Tortured Poets Department, released last year. The lyrics reference knowing “how to ball” and include nods to a past interview where Kelce was asked to “marry, kiss or kill” Swift alongside Ariana Grande and Katy Perry.
Kelce wasn’t alone in sharing his favorite Swift song; fellow athlete Rob Gronkowski enthusiastically declared that “Shake It Off” is his go-to track. He even broke into song and dance, exclaiming, “Shake it off! Shake it off!” while playfully shimmying his shoulders.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle also chimed in, naming “Love Story” as his favorite. “It’s incredible,” he said with evident enthusiasm.
Tight End University is an annual gathering co-founded by Kelce, Kittle, and Greg Olsen, designed to unite tight ends for collaboration in a three-day program leading up to NFL training camps. This year’s event took place in Nashville and kicked off with a welcome party.
Kelce made headlines when he brought Swift as his plus-one. The couple arrived hand in hand at the Thompson Nashville on June 24, sharing a sweet kiss while posing for photos on the red carpet.
Swift also attended the “Tight Ends & Friends” concert featuring Kane Brown, where she surprised the audience by taking the stage. “How loud could this place get?” she asked the crowd, according to social media footage. “I was like, ‘I don’t have a guitar,’ and then Chase Rice said, ‘You can use mine!’ So we would like to dedicate this to our favorite players who are going to play — and these are the tight ends.”
During the concert, Swift performed “Shake It Off” alongside Brown. This marked her first performance since reclaiming her entire music catalog.

“We just figured we were going to play that three minutes ago,” she remarked. “You guys have a lovely evening!”
Brown later shared a video of their spontaneous duet on social media, humorously captioning it: “When you think you’re the special guest BUT you’re not.”
