Trey Yesavage Celebrates Anniversary Amid World Series Glory
October has proven to be a significant month for Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage, who recently celebrated a personal milestone just days before his standout performance in Game 5 of the World Series.
On October 9, Yesavage, 22, took to Instagram to honor his two-year anniversary with girlfriend Taylor Frick. “Happy anniversary to the woman that completes me!” he wrote, expressing gratitude for her unwavering support. “You fill my life with love and I’m so thankful for you.”
Frick reciprocated the affection, commenting, “I love you so much my sweet boy, a million anniversaries to go.” Their relationship began in October 2021 while they were students at East Carolina University, where Yesavage played baseball and Frick cheered on the sidelines.

Fast forward to October 29, during the Blue Jays’ decisive 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, Yesavage made history by striking out 12 batters, setting a rookie World Series record. This remarkable feat did not go unnoticed by Frick, who shared her emotional reaction on her Instagram Story shortly after the game concluded, stating she was “still crying.”
Yesavage’s ascent through the ranks of baseball has been nothing short of meteoric. He began the season with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays and made his Major League debut on September 15. Frick celebrated this achievement on social media, calling him “an amazing human who happens to be really (like really) good at baseball.”
In a heartfelt anniversary post from October 2024, Frick reflected on their journey together. “My little girl self would be smiling ear to ear if she knew she would have a love like this one day,” she wrote. Yesavage responded with a simple yet profound declaration: “I love you more than you know.”
As the Blue Jays stand one win away from clinching their first title since 1993, Yesavage has played a pivotal role in their success, helping the team secure a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series against the Dodgers.
Before Game 5, a video surfaced showing Yesavage in the locker room, headphones on, seemingly focused. “Trey Yesavage is LOCKED IN,” read a popular social media post. However, he later clarified that his serious demeanor was misleading. “I was just doomscrolling on TikTok and Instagram reels,” he admitted in an interview with ESPN. “I try not to think about anything.”
Game 6 is set for Friday, October 31, at Toronto’s Rogers Centre at 8 p.m., with a potential Game 7 scheduled for Saturday, November 1.
