Agustín Ramírez's Late Heroics Propel Marlins Past Brewers
In a pivotal moment during Saturday's game, rookie Agustín Ramírez delivered a clutch two-run single in the eighth inning, leading the Miami Marlins to a 4-2 victory against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Kyle Stowers contributed to the Marlins' offense with a home run, while Ronny Henríquez (5-1) showcased his skills by pitching a flawless eighth inning. Lake Bachar then closed out the game, retiring the side on just eight pitches to earn his first save. This win marks the Marlins' impressive streak of 10 victories in their last 12 games.
Entering the eighth inning with the bases loaded and no outs, Milwaukee reliever Jared Koenig struck out Connor Norby. He managed to induce Otto López into a force play at home before Ramírez stepped up and delivered a two-strike line drive to left field. With this performance, Ramírez now leads National League rookies with 37 RBIs.
The eighth inning began with singles from Dane Myers and Javier Sanoja against Brewers reliever Nick Mears (1-2). Xavier Edwards then added to the pressure with a perfectly placed bunt that rolled fair along the third-base line.
Earlier in the game, the Brewers had tied the score at 2-all when Isaac Collins hit a run-scoring single in the fourth inning. Rhys Hoskins initially put Milwaukee ahead with an RBI triple in the second, but Stowers quickly responded with a solo homer, followed by Liam Hicks' run-scoring double that shifted the lead back to Miami.
Hoskins exited the game in the fifth due to discomfort in his left thumb after making a tag on Eric Wagaman following an errant throw from shortstop Joey Ortiz.

Brewers starter Chad Patrick allowed two runs over five innings, while Marlins starter Cal Quantrill gave up two runs and six hits in 3 2/3 innings of work.
After Hicks' go-ahead double in the second, Patrick managed to retire Myers on a shallow fly ball and Sanoja on a groundout.
Stowers' second-inning home run marked his team-high 16th of the season, registering an exit velocity of 112.4 mph—the hardest-hit homer of his career.
Looking ahead, RHP Brandon Woodruff is set to make his season debut for the Brewers on Sunday against Marlins RHP Edward Cabrera (3-2, 3.41).
